Galvanised or PVC-coated welded mesh for outdoor fencing?

For most outdoor fencing hot-dip galvanised (G60 minimum, G90 for coastal or high-humidity sites) is enough. PVC coating is added when you need a colour match or extra corrosion margin, but it hides the underlying zinc, so specify the galvanised base grade separately.

What mesh opening suits concrete reinforcement?

Reinforcement fabric is specified by wire diameter and the centre-to-centre spacing of the wires (commonly 100–200 mm for slabs), not by the "mesh" count used for sieving. Give the structural engineer’s spacing and the concrete cover, and the supplier will match a standard fabric.

What is the typical minimum order and lead time for welded wire mesh?

The usual minimum is 100 rolls or 1,000 m² per specification, mixed openings can usually be combined, and repeat specifications run 15–30 days ex-works for repeat specifications, 30–45 days including new tooling or jig setup. First orders with new tooling or custom colours sit at the long end of that range; stock configurations sit at the short end.

How should welded wire mesh be packed for export?

panels strapped in bundles on wooden pallets with edge protection; rolls wrapped in anti-rust paper and woven fabric. If your shipment routes through humid climates or long storage, say so in the RFQ — packing upgrades are cheap at the factory and expensive as a claim.

Which quality tests should accompany a welded wire mesh shipment?

At minimum: wire tensile strength; weld shear / peel strength; coating mass per unit area; mesh opening and wire-diameter tolerance; panel flatness and squareness. Type-test certificates qualify the design; ask additionally for per-batch routine records, which are what tell you what actually shipped.

What goes wrong in the field with cheap welded wire mesh?

The recurring failure modes are: weak weld that opens under load; uneven or patchy zinc coating; wrong opening supplied. None of them are visible at goods-in, which is why the specification and the batch records matter more than the sample.
