19 mm is the brick-press standard in most markets; 16 mm for tile. The width is set by the seal and the press tooling, so match the line you already run.

What is the typical minimum order and lead time for blue steel strapping?

The usual minimum is 1–2 tonnes per size; mixed widths negotiable, and repeat specifications run 15–25 days; index-linked pricing confirmed at order. First orders with new tooling or custom colours sit at the long end of that range; stock configurations sit at the short end.

How should blue steel strapping be packed for export?

ribbon coils on pallets moisture-wrapped; stump coils banded in fours; keep dry in container stowage. If your shipment routes through humid climates or long storage, say so in the RFQ — packing upgrades are cheap at the factory and expensive as a claim.

Which quality tests should accompany a blue steel strapping shipment?

At minimum: tensile and elongation per coil lot; breaking load per width/thickness on the calibration table; edge burr check (burrs cut seals and hands); wax coverage and coil camber audit. Type-test certificates qualify the design; ask additionally for per-batch routine records, which are what tell you what actually shipped.

What goes wrong in the field with cheap blue steel strapping?

The recurring failure modes are: strap snapping at the seal; rust in transit; brittle fracture on the tensioner. None of them are visible at goods-in, which is why the specification and the batch records matter more than the sample.
